Welcome to the Scottish Dancing in Stockholm

No one who has come into contact with Scottish dancing, Scottish Country Dancing, usually manages to avoid being inspired by the fantastic feeling and rhythm in jigs, reels, hornpipes, or strathspeys.

It is therefore not surprising that Scottish Country Dancing today exists in local branches all over the world, organized by the Scottish main organization, The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. In Stockholm, Scottish dancing has been present since the 1960s and since the mid-1970s as a separate local branch.

Stockholm Branch dances both advanced dancers and those at the "intermediate" level together. Our experienced teachers are trained by the Scottish main organization, and we also organize separate courses for beginners.

There are a total of 160 local branches and over 200 affiliated groups.

Autumn 2025

The spring term of 2025 has now concluded with a spectacular finale featuring more than 50 dancers. We have also started our autumn activities and held our first dance evening on September 7th, where we gathered all groups for a joint start to the autumn. We will continue to collaborate with Kulturama this autumn but will dance in their premises in Sundbyberg. Beginners will dance in a location about 100 meters away at Kulturcentrum in Hallonbergen.

See more information below about how to get to our locations. As before, we will have three groups: an advanced group, a continuation group on their fourth term, and a beginners' group in their second term

Term Fee

The term fee for the autumn term is 700 SEK (350 SEK for students), and there will be approximately 12 sessions. Please note that you can receive a wellness allowance from your employer for the entire term fee.  To receive a certificate, after you have paid, send an email to treasurer@rscds-stockholm.se and request it. The term fee can be paid via Swish 123 352 14 32 or via Plusgiro 80 64 12 - 3

Facebook

Please keep an eye on our Facebook page. Go to "Dance Scottish - Stockholm Branch of RSCDS".

During the autumn, we will be dancing in two different venues. The Continuation group, which is in its fourth term, and Advanced will dance in the auditorium at Kulturama Sundbyberg, Lötsjövägen 10-12, 174 52 Sundbyberg.

Meanwhile, the Beginners, who are in their second term, will dance at the Kulturcentrum in Hallonbergen.

The best way to get to our venues is by Subway, Blue line 11 towards Akalla. Get off at station Hallonbergen and use the exit towards Lötsjövägen. You will then come out into a small shopping center and you then take the escalator up to street level.

If you are going to the auditorium, go straight ahead towards the exit marked Lötsjövägen, and outside the doors, walk along Lötsjövägen to the left for about 100 meters, and you will see Kulturama on the other side of the street.

The doors are locked, but we will have someone on guard from 17:45. If you arrive late, a good tip is to stand by the low rocky hill outside the entrance so that we can see you from the windows in the auditorium.

If you want to use the map here, please note that the map database does not have the exit directly to mark

Lötsjövägen is included without suggesting that you should go out through the main entrance and walk around the building. This is unnecessary, just follow the sign Lötsjövägen.

Beginners find it even easier to locate since they remain in the building where you exit the Subway. Like those who dance in the auditorium, you take the escalator up, but do not go out;

Instead, turn left twice immediately when you reach the topof the escalator. Then you will see a huge sign that says KULTURCENTRUM (see the picture above) and enter there. There is a staffed reception if none of the teachers are in the lobby.
